FireFox Information
What is FireFox? It's a free alternative to Internet Explorer. Most internet surfers use the Internet Explorer browser supplied with Windows, but I personally find FireFox to be a better option. It's more configurable, and is much less prone to adware, spyware, and other security risks than Internet Explorer. This is simply because it's less popular, and therefore a smaller target for would be hackers and ad agencies to try and take over. It also offers tabbed browsing, a nice feature, and has a Google search bar unobtrusively built in.
Another great thing about Firefox is the support for extensions. Extensions are little add on applications that reside inside the browser, and allow you to perform web tasks more easily. A good example is Mouse Gestures - right clicking and dragging on the screen, you can go back and forward without needing to click on the icon in your toolbar. There are gestures for many different functions, so you don't need to go searching through menus. There are extensions to disable popup ads, disable flash, disable banner advertising, speed up surfing, page loading, the list goes on and on. FireFox really is a great program.
I've designed my site to be compatible with FireFox because it's my browser of choice, though Internet Explorer users will be able to use the site and all of its features just fine. It's a completely personal choice, and your call. I do invite you to take a look at it, however. It's free, easy to use, and, in my opinion, just a better browser. If you decide to download it, all of your favorites and settings will import from Internet Explorer, and at the very least you'll have a free alternative if Internet Explorer ever messes up on you. Check it out.
